As interest in green buildings and buildings certification is increasing, empirical evidence shows that green labels affect the financial performance of commercial buildings. Residential buildings also benefit from greener improvements through greater comfort levels and lower operational costs. A study conducted in Europe indicates that energy efficient homes sell for a 10% price premium.
