Milford Joins C-PACE Program

MILFORD — The city’s economic development board has approved bringing a state program to Milford that finances eco-conscious infrastructure upgrades for private business properties and municipal buildings.

At a meeting last week, the Economic Development Commission unanimously approved bringing the Connecticut Property Assessed Clean Energy, or C-PACE, to Milford. The Board of Aldermen would still have to pass a resolution to formally allow businesses in Milford to apply.

Under C-PACE, businesses could fund upgrades like solar panels, installing energy efficient lighting, and improving heating and cooling systems. The state provides direct , allowing properties to finance the cost through a special tax assessment. Read full story.
