Montville has joined the state’s clean energy program, and a residential development is already lined up to take part in it.
The Town Council voted unanimously last week to authorize Mayor Ron McDaniel to execute an agreement on behalf of the town for the Commercial and Industrial Property Assessed Clean Energy program. McDaniel said there had not been much interest in the program until now. Meadows of Montville recently approached the town to discuss having the program in place for its planned energy efficiency project.
The program is administered through the Clean Energy Investment and Finance Authority, a quasi-public agency started in 2011 to promote investment and financing of energy efficiency efforts. C-PACE is open to any commercial and industrial properties as well as residential properties with five units or more. Read more.
