Saginaw County leaders are pushing forward a proposal to designate the entire county as a “Property Assessed Clean Energy District.”
The special designation allows businesses and nonprofits to secure better financing for energy efficiency improvements and renewable energy system projects at their facilities.
Establishment of a PACE district allows property owners to voluntarily take on a special property tax assessment to finance the improvements. Those assessments, levied only on the properties that decide to pursue projects, are used to pay for the loans. Read full story.
