Saginaw County, MI to consider becoming a PACE District

The Saginaw County Board of Commissioners will be tasked later this month with deciding if the entire county should begin the process of becoming a “Property Assessed Clean Energy” district.

Saginaw Future President JoAnn Crary brought the proposal to the County Services Committee on June 4. All three members present voted in favor of passing it on to the full board on June 18.

Crary explained that the program would allow businesses and non-profit organizations in the county to use a special property tax assessment as collateral to seek loans for energy efficiency improvements. Read more.
