Certain property owners can soon take advantage of a state energy program and receive financing for clean energy improvements.
The program, called Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy or C-PACE, is open to those business owners who can lower the production of energy to their buildings or enable them to produce clean energy.
Commercial, industrial, and multi-family property owners can receive 100 percent upfront, low-cost financing for clean energy upgrades to their properties since the Board of Selectmen recently entered into the program, according to Patrick McMahon, director of economic and community development for the town.
